Valve is reportedly working on a new game, Deadlock, and from the looks, it's going to be a massive hit considering the total player base on Steam despite being in early access. Valve seemingly doesn't want as much people talking about their new IP, but it all seems to be a marketing tactic.
Valve placed Deadlock in early access on Steam, though not accessible to all players. Only players with invitations from players already invited to play the game, can try out Deadlock.
Deadlock is a MOBA third person hero shooter featuring a massive map that's far from scanty, and some impressive game mechanics, including several characters which possess certain abilities and skills differing from one another.
Although recently revealed by leakers and creators, the game has garnered over 20,000 players on Steam all of which were invited through words of mouth. And that's clearly a huge number considering the game has been available for early access on Steam for only a shot time, and that Valve doesn't want people talking about their game.
While the game is still in its development stages, it has already amassed a large player base showubg the game's potential to achieve great heights and become a hit moments after its release.
As it stands, Valve is simply dong viral marketing to get Deadlock to reach several gamers, and that's a great one for the IP. To conclude, with Deadlock's early access already receiving positive reviews from fans, one could conclude that the game eould garner millions of sales in its first year and break dozens of records just like The Witcher, Elden Ring, and other past groundbreaking titles.
